Other applications

​ATA Carnets are not accepted for postal traffic. 

ATA Carnets are accepted for transit. 

ATA Carnets are not accepted for unaccompanied goods. 

Partial shipments are not allowed. 

Languages in which Carnets should be completed

​English. The Customs may require a translation when the ATA Carnets are completed in any other language. 

Customs offices

​The Customs office of Bahrain airport is entitled to process ATA Carnets from Saturday to Thursday from 7.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. ​

Special observations

Customs Inspection of goods under cover of ATA Carnets 

All goods temporarily exported from and imported into the Kingdom of Bahrain under cover of ATA Carnets must be subject to Customs inspection upon exit and re-entry, entry and exit.

Import duties and customs fines 

Import duties, taxes, etc. (including penalties, if applicable, reaching to a maximum of two times the customs duties of the goods) will be imposed on goods which cannot be re-exported because they have been sold, given away, lost, stolen or destroyed. 

These may also be applied to goods which cannot be re-exported for whatever reasons. 

​The import duties and customs fines shall be calculated in accordance with the Common Customs Law and Rules of lmplementation thereof shall be applicable.
