ATA Convention
The use of ATA Carnets is authorized, under national laws and regulations, for temporary admission operations concerning goods covered by the following International Conventions:
“Professional equipment” Convention
“Fairs and Exhibitions” Convention
“Commercial samples” Convention
“Scientific equipment” Convention
”Pedagogic material” Convention
Territorial coverage
Customs territory
Other applications
ATA Carnets are accepted for postal traffic.
ATA Carnets are not accepted for transit
ATA Carnets are accepted for unaccompanied consignment
Temporary admission operations carried under national laws and regulations:
Sports equipment imported by foreigners intending to participate in international competitions taking place in Senegal
Temporarily imported goods in compliance with the Convention concerning facilities for touring and the with “Private Road Vehicles” Convention
Languages in which Carnets should be completed
French. The Customs may require a translation if the Carnet is completed in any other language.

Customs offices authorized to accept ATA Carnets:
- Dakar Port
- Postal Depot
- Dakar Yoff
- Dakar Port and Postal Depot:
Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon – From 2.30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Friday: from 8 a.m. to 12 noon – from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday: from 8 a.m. to 12 noon
Completion of entry formalities may be authorized outside legal office hours during fairs, exhibitions or other events. - Dakar Yoff: day and night.
